CarRepairLabs is operated by Sardar Arslan as an individual. This is not a registered company, so there is no company number and no registered office to give. That is expected to change; when it does, this page and the footer will carry the company details and the data controller will be named as that company.

For data protection purposes the controller is Sardar Arslan, contactable at hello@carrepairlabs.com.

That is unusual enough to be worth stating precisely, so here is the whole of it.

Server logs

The site is hosted by a third-party provider, which records standard request logs: the IP address a request came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser’s user-agent string. These are created by the hosting infrastructure for security and reliability, they are retained for a short period by that provider, and they are not assembled into profiles or used to identify anyone here.

Email you send us

If you email, we hold that email and any address in it, for as long as needed to deal with what you asked and to keep a record of corrections made to the site. Nothing you send is added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.

What we never do

• We do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone.
• We do not run advertising, so no advertiser receives anything.
• We do not use tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or any cross-site technology.
• We do not ask for your registration number, address or phone number in order to show you a price.

This site sets no cookies at all, and stores nothing in your browser’s local storage. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.

If that changes, a banner will appear and this page will change first, with a date. Anything beyond what is strictly necessary will be off until you turn it on.

You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive a copy of it. There is little to exercise these against, since we hold nothing beyond emails you have chosen to send.

To make a request, email hello@carrepairlabs.com. We will respond within one month, which is the statutory period.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.

Legal basis

Where we process anything, the basis is legitimate interests: running and securing a website, and answering people who contact us. We do not rely on consent, because we are not doing anything that requires it.

Garage listings are built from the public DVSA register of MOT test stations, published under the Open Government Licence. That register contains business details rather than personal ones. Where a sole trader’s business name includes their own name, the distinction blurs, so the same rules apply: if you run a listed business and want the entry corrected or removed, ask and it will be.

If what we collect changes, this page changes before the collection starts, not after. The most likely change is analytics, and if it is added it will be a privacy-preserving product that sets no cookies, or it will ask you first.
