Email

How to reach me

hello@carrepairlabs.com

I read everything. I answer as quickly as I can, and I am one person, so that is sometimes a few days rather than the same afternoon. I would rather say that than promise a response time I cannot hold to.

There is no phone number. A number nobody answers is worth less than an address that gets read, and one person cannot staff a phone line while doing the research.

Useful

What to include

For a price that looks wrong, the most useful message contains the page address, the car, and what you were actually quoted.

  • The page you were reading, or its address.
  • The make, model and engine, and roughly where you are.
  • What a garage quoted you for the same job, if you have it. A real quote is the best evidence there is that a figure needs revisiting.

How corrections are handled once they arrive is set out in the editorial policy.

Garages

If you run a garage

Get in touch at the same address. Garages listed here come from the public DVSA register of MOT test stations, so a listing may exist without you having asked for one.

If your details are wrong, tell me and I will correct them. If you would rather not be listed at all, say so and the listing goes. Neither costs anything, and listings are free while the site is being built. What that will look like later is on how we make money.

Limits

What I cannot help with

Some things arrive by email that this site genuinely cannot do, and it saves you time to know which.

  • Booking a repair. We do not carry out work and take no payment for it. Contact the garage directly.
  • Diagnosing a fault by email. I have not seen the car, and guessing at a noise from a description would be worth nothing to you.
  • A dispute with a garage. We are not party to work you agreed with a business. Citizens Advice can help, and the garage may belong to a trade body with a complaints process.
  • A firm quote. Every figure here is research. Only the garage that inspects the car can commit to a price.
